ear pain

Have any of you had ear pain with RA? I have had it in the jaw before, but this time it's the neck and ears...YOW! Not comfortable.

I read online RA can do this, so I'm not that concerned, but I just wondered how many others have had it. I also read RA can effect the tiny bones in the ear. Seriously now?

My rheumy sent me to an ENT recently, as my ears were aching as well - bilaterally on/off for MONTHS. The ENT saw that my ears were clear and diagnosed it as RA in my TMJ... One of the last joints to get hit, according to both docs, but lucky, lucky me: I got hit with it less than a year after the RA/vasculitis diagnosis.

They ache so much as I write this: if nothing else, I feel your pain! After 3 months on MTX, it seems to be occurring less frequently by a fraction, and as couchtater suggested, the moist heat does seem to make it more tolerable. Hope whatever's causing your issue is resolved soon, IowaGirl. Not fun.
