Mild degeneration in wrist

At my last rheumy appt, I mentioned how much my wrist was bothering me. My rheumy ordered an X-ray of it, and I got the results today that it showed mild degeneration of the bones in my wrist.

After years of negative tests, it was a shock that this X-ray actually showed something.

I've been diagnosed with sjogrens, but no official RA diagnosis yet.

I have an appointment with an orthopedic hand specialist in a month. What should I expect from that appointment?

My wrist was swollen and sore for at least a year before I saw an orthopedic MD (hand specialist) and he did lab work and did an MRI on my wrist and immediately referred me to Rheumatologist. I was diagnosed with RA even though when my lab work was done with the RA doctor none of the typical signs were there. I have been treated now for about 3 years for RA, taking MTX and sulfasalazine plus folic acid and am handling it well. The swelling went down sometime after I was on the treatment and only swells and hurts now on occasion with overuse.
