My hands really really hurt

My hands are really hurting and so very sore and stiff, I was supposed to see my RA doctor last month he called and cancelled, which I understand only to find that they cannot reschedule me until the 12 of December and I'm in need of help...Weather is changing here, I'm not very swollen yet, just mildly...what helps you when you can't get in to see your doctor?
I just do not know how much of this I can tolerate...I want to stitch, I'm a cross-stitch person it calms me. I Just want to curl up in bed and stay there not doing or caring about anything. Hands also throbbing...hard to explain it...

My wife used to work as a manicurist and she has some mits that are warmers like a heating blanket only for hands. I would think that something like them would be helpful, I have not used them for this but I have had it in the back of my mind for quite a while.

Usually a hot soak in the tub with epsom salts really really helps at least to get me going in the morning before work. I would also increase my prednizone like BadDay said at least for a few days.

I have had really good results getting in to see my Doctor by asking for any open cancellations they may have when I am in bad shape as well.

I try to make sure that I keep some pain medication on hand for this very reason. I hope that you feel better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hang in there!

The cold came thru last night and sleep was just gone, so tonight I did take extra pain meds and hopefully can get some rest soon. Keep hoping that tomorrow my hands will not hurt so bad. I will look into the parafin tomorrow, thank you. any brands that you can recommend?
