Hello all, question has anyone been on Mobic for stiffness/pain in hands and fingers? How long does it take to feel relief? I have been waking up most of the night not able to use my hands or even lift the blankets :( I am also on gabapentin for fibro. I am afraid to start it because the pharmacy said I can't take Advil if needed for quick pain relief (like a 200mg). Thanks!

I was on Mobic for a short time and for me, it worked right away. Unfortunately, I had to go off of it due to stomach issues.

I have this problem to and the great folks on here recommended a paraffin wax bath, get a script if you can from your doctor or just try to find one on amazon and hopefully this will help. Cold is also a huge issue with me, so very cold all the time and I'm still looking at a good wax bath to buy...Hopefully to have it narrowed down soon...Hope this can help you as well.

Heat helps for me too but I just heat up a wheat bag from the chemist or pharmacy in the microwave and then wrap it around the affected joint, hand, wrist what ever.

Cortisone injections help too when its really bad.

Mobic is quite good, to me it was on par with Celebrex, in my experience it took both 2hrs and good enough to get on with my daily duties (this was in the first year of RA), im assuming u mean the advil ibuprofen, that had next to NO effect for me, would have been great if it did as its easy and cheap to get.

If it helps Voltaren ended up being my favorite nsaid,I take 100mg in the morning and 50mg before bed atm to get any effect.

Nsaids I have tried, Feldene, Celebrex, Mobic, Naproxen, aspirin, ibuprofen.

Hello

I was on Meloxicam the generic form of Mobic. It works within a few hours and lasts all day. Yes, its basically the same as Celebrex, my doctor said. Unfortunately I have stomach issues not related to RA and I could not tolerate it for more than a month. I find Aleeve and other NSAID drugs are not strong enough for me and do not help at all. (but they did work when my RA was not so advanced)

I have gone back to plain old acetaminophen arthritis formula, and it helps in conjunction with cortisone injections and methotrexate injections.

Meloxicam works great, I wish my tummy could handle it.
