eyes  Ok, I am really tired now. Ya'll know I fell and hurt my knee.blah..blah..blah.

Well today my daughter came to pick me up for grocery shopping, it is raining, she lets me off in front of store. I start inside store and as I get in the door, big puddle of water sad , and bingo bango, I find myself looking at the cieling of the store. Fell flat on my back, not to mention banging my head on the way down. yeah

Spent afternoon at ER, very unpleasant experience. nono It is strained, will be ok with rest, no brain damage lol( jury still out on that one, but not from this incident lol) tongue

 Ever heard of an accident waiting to happen...

Boy you sure aren't having any luck. Hope you feel better soon and not in to much pain. I will be thinking about you. Guess I better get back to work.

Hi there - Ive been reading your posts and wondering if you have considered using either a cane or a walker.

I use a cane in the house and a walker with a seat (in case my legs collapse suddenly and I need to sit in a hurry).

First of all I should tell you a story. I was out with my walker and one of the women in the group said she was having leg problems with arthritis and fibromyalgia. She said to me that she "was TOO PROUD to use a walker" Well I told her the following-

"Im too proud to put my family and friends through the worry of when I'm going to fall again"

Also "Im too proud to become a burden to my family through falling and perhaps breaking a bone, just because I couldnt be bothered trying to help myself in any way I could."

She didnt apologize to me, but maybe she will think before she criticizes someone for helping themselves.

Just a thought. I have racing stripes on my walker and my cane is candy-striped.

Hi Maura,

Not to proud at all. Most of the time now, I use either a cane or walker, and I have my lil scooter. It was just that it was raininig and  only a few steps so daughter let me out at door. Just bad decision.

Ha! When you get my age, not to proud to use anything that will keep you off the floor.

Ducky,

Well, to day I am feeling ouchie! I am just so darned mad at the store for not having anything there to let peeps know it was wet.

I do have something new that is helping. My daughter bought a craftmatic bed almost a year ago, it massages, heats does everything but make it's self( and I am working on that) any way, she had Jessie, the new baby, in bed with her the other day and baby turned over and nose went into crack where the matresses meet. Mommy was awake as she had been feeding her, if not results could have been disatrious.

Outcome is craftmatic at my house and my bed at daughter's house.

it is wonderful for me, I shower, raise head and feet a little, turn massage on...girlfriend, I think I have done died and went to Heaven!

Wow, look at you with the fancy bed! I bet it does do wonders... You just can't replace a comfy bed.. I know I love mine... it's not a craftmatic, but its WONDERFUL! Glad you are getting a little comfort through your pain.... Here's to pain free days!

Hi ducky,

Yes, I am definetly enjoying my bed. I could be a walknig infomercial for that company. Has helped my hubby with his GERD also. He went from 6 pillows at night down to 2. yeah

Funny thing is , my daughter called after 2 nights, and told me how comfy her "new" bed was..lol go figure..I hated it!

Dear Flopsie, congrats on getting a new bed. This should help with your knees too!!! Nice to hear that hubby is enjoying it too.

Now I would love one of those beds but I have a strong feeling that they are out of my price range.

We got a new bed about two years ago, but with hubby's weight gain, his side is completely ruined.

Ducky, you said you had a great comfy bed, do you mind me asking what type you got?

I have been looking at the pillow tops. They seem comfy but I do not know how long they would stand up.

Suzie, since your hubby is a bit on the larger side, I was wondering if you would share what type of bed you have and if it works well.

Hey effie, those beds are quite pricey, but I did not have to pay for it...LOL daughter did. We had the pillow top back support and hubby loved it. This one is better for his GERD tho.

Ya'll are right a good bed can certainly help your outlook on life.LOL

Why, I actually see sun outside. yeah (oh,I forgot..it has been raining for a week........LOL)

Effie - I'll have to check and see what type of bed we have, I know it is a Sealy, but I can't remember the actual model type it is... I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! :) I'll check and get back with you!
