I have had similar problems, but not due to gout (at least I wasn't told it was.)
I don't have a lot to offer in suggestions, just empathy and support.
I can say, once you know what you need to do to help yourself, get the help and support of family and friends to get you through this time of need - offer to 'owe' them later for help in car rides, meals, shopping, or whatever you might need right now and can't do for yourself. Accept that you need to stop and take care of yourself now and be wary of depression settling in. I became very depressed and it went untreated for a long time, being immobile, in pain, and depressed for long periods of time can make you a little crazy.
Good luck, I hope you are feeling better since your first post.
