finger locking up

I'm having more and more episodes of my ring finger locking in a straight position. When it bends it does a painful pop.

Is this signs my fingers are getting worse? They're not crooked like I've seen others people's fingers get.

You could bring this up with your RA doctor but it could get you a write out for a hand surgeon. I have my fingers crossing which is bad and have used finger splints...locking doesn't sound good, but I think your only option is hand surgery and hand surgery might be hard on you...my ra doctor said he could refer me out to a hand surgeon, but at this point in time I said "no". So I guess it depends on how bad it is for you, due you feel the need for corrective surgery?...

I'm not ready for surgery, but I'll keep an eye on further developments. I'll mention it to him at the next visit.

I have had that same thing. It started with my middle finger on my left hand, and now its doing it on the same finger of my right hands. It locks, and is very painful and sometimes I can sort of massage it and it will pop back into wherever its supposed to be. My doctor didn't seem to be too concerned about it.
