Why only the hands hurt?

I have been diagnosed with RA in February this year. I'm taking methotextrate and prednisone. Only my hands have been hurting and I was told to increase the prednisone. Any comments on why my hands only hurt?

RA goes after the small bones first.

Mine started in my hands first, then the toes. Such fun....

My rheumatologist believes in doing a mix of plaquinel and Leflunomide. It seems to be helping me more. He tries to limit my steroids due to beginning of cataracts.

It likes hands. Mine always feel like a truck ran them over

hands and wrists, feet and ankles....never pain free since onset....
