Visit to eye dr

Thursday I went to eye Dr to get more tests because he saw something he didn't like during routine exam. Scans of optic nerve showed beginning stages of normal tensity glaucoma!
Preliminary search of web leads me to conclusion that I need to get rid of prednisone and RA to prevent further damage to optic nerve.
They both have been such a joy
Gonna do more research and return for further tests in 3 mos. This RA is the gift that keeps on giving, huh?
Moral of this story...don't forget to get your routine eye exams, even if you don't have issues or symptoms.

I have glaucoma too. It's a slow disease and there is a simple eye drop to help it. I've had it for going on 15 years and there's been no change to my eyes despite all of the steroids I've been on for years.

I was just told, after being sent to a retina specialist, that I have black spots on my retinas, in both eyes that could lead to blind spots. They also did something similar to vision field test. There is an area where I can see nothing that in on a vein. Thank you plaquenil.
