I`m concerned about taking predizone and Enbrel together
been on predizone for yrs
gonna take some time to wean off it

I have heard taking both together can cause more infections

Has any one of you lovely peeps taken both together?

Have taken both together for several years as well as methotrexate. I have become hyper conscientious about avoiding infections since beginning biological 10 yrs ago, so I wash my hands, get flu shots, and try to avoid contact with sick people . I seem to get a lot of viruses that are more of annoyance than anything like pink eye, athletes foot, planters warts. I am rarely "in bed" sick.
My suggestion is to wean off very very slowly to avoid flares.

Ive taken prednisone and Enbrel together but the prednisone was always on a burst and taper, not on a long term basis. Hopefully you can get this figured out.

It is my magic cocktail: prednisone, arava and enbrel. Down to 10 mg prednisone daily. No sickness or infection. Except a sinus infection and took antibiotics along with enbrel. Worked great. No problems, no flares. I wish I had found this combination before both knees completely destroyed while on methotrexate. Everyone's different. Bone density good, prednisone weight gain though is awful, at lead 80 lbs in 4 years of daily prednisone. But moving now with less pain is too important to me to stop just because of potential side effects. How much are you currently taking?

I take 10 pred a day doc wants me to go on 20 every other day and start weaning that that way

my cocktail is the same as urs :)

took my first Enbrel shot yesterday :)

hubby gave it to me ..just bit of stinging..nothing major :)

I do have bone density issues :(

been on pred 4 20 yrs or more on then off
