As usual I am in TOTAL agreement with what Don said. After having lived with varying degrees of joint pain and flares, I have determined only one trigger for certain, and that is stress. Usually emotional stress, but too much physical stress as well. I have also received much advice on what to eat and not eat. Turmeric seems to be an agreed upon anti inflammatory, and I think there is some good evidence to back that up. Otherwise, I would suggest a healthy diet that keeps you from gaining too much weight. Extra pounds would certainly add stress to joints. I have never heard of coffee causing inflammation, but it certainly adds to my hot flashes!
I buy mostly organic and mostly non processed foods. However, it is so much more expensive. Sad that it costs more to eat healthy than unhealthy. I also grow a lot of food. Another luxury many cannot afford.
