Can knee pain be a flare?

So, earlier this week, both knees started killing me!!!!!I've had a few other achy joints as well and swollen hands. Can you have an RA flare without redness or swelling of the knees? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I have cooking to do. I suppose I can't get in to see my doctor until Friday. I can't take NSAIDS, maybe I will take some tramadol tonight to see if that will help my pain. This is the worst my knees have ever hurt me.

I have had RA now for nearly 30 yrs and with a High positive Rheumatoid Factor and only on a few occasions have i had redness & swelling together usually I get PAIN or Swelling and shinny skin but not often redness
it sounds like a flare and as you have the stress of Thanksgiving even if you don't feel Stressed your body will know there is "an event on" Try to relax keep up your water intake & if you have them take some vitamins B's or a multi vitamin and get others to help out as much as you can remember from what little I know of Thanksgiving it is a family time and a time for Thanks So don't get weighed Down with the pressure we put on ourselves
