Injection site reaction

I've been on enbrel for about 2 months now and haven't had any issues. The last two injections have caused a small red/itchy rashat the injection site. I called the enbrel nurse and she informed me that it is very common but I should call Dr b/c it could possibly be an infection somewhere that has caused the reaction all of the sudden. I take this with methotrexate and my flares have been tolerable. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Valery,
I'm also on Enbril and have been for several years. I occasionally get a bit of an injection site redness and itchiness, but I think it's likely due to my latex allergy, which isn't severe, just annoying. It's good to hear that it is working for you. You will get blood work periodically due to taking methotrexate, and you can take a look at your white cell count to rule out any underlying infection, but it's probably nothing to worry about unless you have a fever.

Hi I haven't been on enberil but was on humira injection do you use an alcohol wipe to clean skin before injecting if not even just wash area to remove any bacteria so your not introducing anything when you inject also apply an ice pack or cool cloth to help any irritation this can be done before & after injecting But tell your Dr at next visit as it could be a reaction
