Help!!

New to this but very desperate. Have had severe RA for about 7 years. I am 39 years old and recently had to stop taking Embrel due to lack of insurance. its been about 2 weeks and my feet and ankles are swollen and i cant even stand on them. Embarrassing but i had to crawl to use the bathroom. my hands are very swollen as well. Its not like any other flare up i have had before where it slowly starts to hurt and then gets very painful. my left foot has been swollen for about a month but i could manage. yesterday i woke up and both feet and ankles hurt so bad i cant stand up. has anyone ever had anything simular?

Way back in 2012 fibro was classified as a mental disease. Anyway I found the guaifenesin protocol for Fibromyalgia on the internet and tried it. I am still taking guaifenesin 400 mg twice a day. The Rheumatoid Arthritis in my wrist went away within a year of the regimen.

Hello Positive Effort...Sorry to hear your difficulty! I just wanted to add that I was on Humira and it was not that effective so they tried Enbrel and that did not do it for me either and we moved on, but both meds were stopped abruptly. There is no tapering off with the biologics. In order to try the next one you have to stop taking one and wait a period of time before trying the next one (which is so hard) so I do not think you would have done any harm by stopping abruptly you just might not be experiencing the benefits of the med.

Enbrel does offer financial help or a copay. Look them up on their website and give them a call.
