Hi Don, Rinvoq is a daily pill. According to the nurse ambassador I spoke to, it's very sensitive and needs to be taken pretty much at the same time daily and kept in the original bottle as it's can't tolerate moisture. I will definitely post my feedback once I've been on it for a while. I started it Christmas Eve last week and so far, so good. I'm doing better than I have in quite a while already, BUT the weather here cleared up and warmed up considerably a few days ago. So, true effectiveness TBD. One thing however, I have been having some digestive distress and not sure if it's the med or something else.If it is the med, is it a temporary thing or constant. I will be doing some research tonight and calling my doc and the ambassador tomorrow.
If you can tolerate steroids and benedryl, you might be okay with Remicade. I can't tolerate either and they say that is partly why I eventually started having reactions during the infusions. They give you both before the infusion and I started refusing them because i could not function for days after and I had 2 babies and a job at the time. Also, if you take Methotrexate or Arava with it (if you can tolerate), that also seems to boost the effects. I was feeling awesome otherwise after my 2nd ramp-up infusion.
