Hi all. I was diagnosed with RA in 2018, so I’m still trying to figure out how it affects me. Does anyone else have muscle weakness with a flare? The last few days, my joints have been a little more stiff/swollen but not too much pain. My biggest problem is feeling weak all over. Standing too long and it feels like my legs will just give out and I need to sit down. Also, some GI upset, Brian fog, and low grade fever some of the time. Last night pain in left arm as well.

I had another episode like this a few months ago, same except with dizziness rather than muscle weakness. No cough, stuffy nose, sore throat or anything to indicate flu or cold.

Hey KM2018. Yes I have a lot of weakness. Pain and fatigue as well. Ohh and the brain fog always. I know exactly what you are talking about when you say you feel like your legs are gonna give out from
Under you. Mine does the same and in my hip joints it’s awful as well. I can’t stand any longer than maybe 5 to 10
Minutes without holding on to something. My back hurts way to bad. Anyway I hope I have answered your questions about the weakness. Hugs to ya. Stay safe.

Thanks for your reply, Peggy, I’m sorry to hear you have this too! I slowly improved over about 5 weeks. The rheumatologist isn’t sure if I had a flare or a flare with a virus, or even Coronavirus! Take care!

Hi all. I’ve had RA for 5 yrs now and muscle weakness in my legs has been with me from the beginning. I call it wobbly legs. I can’t stand for long before I find something to lean on. I’ve also noticed it is even worse when I’m on Biologicals. Good luck all.

Yes, I’m increasingly convinced this week feeling is a manifestation of RA fatigue. Just wish I had a solution!

Right! Me too my friend. I’m doing really well with my RA at the moment. I have always had fatigue with it but lately I have been doing much better with that as well. However, I am very tired as in can’t stay awake. I have sleep apnea and I’m wondering if my cpap needs adjusting. I woke up and was so tired just like I had not slept 9 hours. Just something else to wonder about. It it keeps up I will be checking with my dr to see about another sleep study. I rest so good With my cpap but it could be it needs adjusting. 😞 hugs to you all my friends.

Hugs to you too Peggy! I don’t have sleep apnea, I can’t imagine adding that extra factor to the fatigue. I think my RA meds might need adjusting. I’m so fatigued by Tuesday each work week I can barely stay standing. 😢
