update on dumb doctors

Hi,

  My rheumy finally filled out all the forms I need for a medical leave of absence from work and short term disability!!  YAY!!  She did screw up filling out the forms... she stated I can return to work on July 2...I figured I must be cured...lol.  I know she was trying to state that I can work somewhere (don't know where yet) as of July 2 but my current employer and my short term disability could care less about that.  Straightened out the blunder so hopefully everything else will go OK!  What a relief  to have part one of my out of work situation taken care of, now just need to worry about getting approval for both these things, then the stress can alleviate while I find a job for a person with bad hands and knees...lol!!   Thanks to those that helped get me through that part of anger and depression.     Wendy

if you change docs now you'd be in trouble

Just got notified that my Medical Leave of Absence was approved! Yay! That means my medical insurance if covered for 3 months. Should hear about Short Term Disability within 10 days.
Missie - why not change doctors now? I was given a good recommendation for one. If I'm going to switch aren't I better off doing it before I apply for SSDI in a few years? Right now I'm not qualified to work my current job so should get short term disability, but also not able to apply for SSDI.
BTW - a great bunch of co-workers I had...they had a party for me, about 30+ people showed up and 20+ gifts. I had told them that I didn't want a party (I was afraid I'd cry), and then told everyone not to bring anything because just seeing them was enough. What a shock!! Now I only need to write a ton of thank you cards....told them not to expect them real quick! Thanks everyone...Wendy
