Hey guys, have any of you ever had your spleen to hurt really bad? I am having some kind of attack here. If it were about to rupture, wouldn't I be calling 911? I know it is my spleen from where the pain is originating from. Well, I don't really know but I really think so.

I have an appointment with my rheumo tomorrow afternoon. Maybe I can wait, and maybe this pain will go away. If any of you have experienced problems with your slpeen before, I would surely like to hear from you......TIA

(On a one to ten scale per the pain, I am at a six. It feels like I broke a rib and a dull, burning, swelling pain is coming from that area, or the left mid ribcage. It feels like there is not enough room inside of me, or I have an alien in there!)

Hey Rj...

Do you have Costochondritis?  From what you are describing, that is what is coming to mind to me.. Now, mind you, I don't have Costochondritis, nor does my spleen hurt, so I may be WAY WAY off, but that was my first thought when I read your post... You can read about it here, and see if this fits what you are experiencing... Hang in there, and if it gets any worse, go to the ER, better to err on the side of caution... Keep us posted!

O'er the years I have read and heard from people who have had costochondritis. I don't think this is what it is though. It is a deep pain and has got somewhat better in the last couple of hours. The pain is coming from deep inside, or at least my abdomen. I am going to try for imaging tomorrow or the next day. I just read about aneurysms of the splenic artery. They are the second most frequent aneurysms that occur in the abdomen. Yikes.

No,I had ITP,a blood disorder.

Rj be careful and listen to your body, are you sure it is not a cardiac episode? with your hx and all? yalinda

Well, I am never sure of much Yalinda :) , but I don't think it is the ticker. I meant to tell Ducky that the doc today said the same as she did last night. Is she smart or what (or what, ha ha ha)? He put his hand under my ribs and squeezed my spleen. It made a tooting sound like a horn the clowns have.....No, not really, but it did pain me a tad. He didn't say much about what it was after I told him the pain was deep under my rib cage.

These dang steroids, injected or oral, hurt my stomach and/or intestines. I spoke with the doc today and he said it was possible for injections to cause this problem with some.

Hey Rj... so he squeezed your spleen and didn't say much after that? Does he have any idea what it might be? I wonder what it is.... hhhmmm....
