Hey everyone
I need some help my mother has bad arthritis to the point were her bones in her feet and hands are deforming she has had it for many years and had surgery with no luck. Here's my issue she takes way to much medication to the point where she is very high, I mean falling asleep while sitting up and she gets like that for days at a time. it is scary because we are afraid to leave her alone in case she is like that and hurts herself or burns the house down. Its also causing problems with her and my dad he is very frustrated and does not know what to do. We have tried talking to her about it and she says there is no problem and then does not take any medication and complains how much pain she is in its like she is rebeling when we talk to her. I know she is in alot of pain becasue you can see it however there needs to be another way of handling her situation. I don't think the doctors are much help because they don't listen and just give her the meds anyway. I have tried to help her with monitering how much she takes but that didn't work either. She used to see a shrink but does not go anymore because she feels like he attacks her as well. So here is my questions
A)How to I make her see its a problem?
B)How do I get her to look at other ways of handling the pain?
C)Who can I talk to, to get her help someone who cares about her not just give her meds and send her on her way.
