I feel so bad for you as I understand your pain. Call your Dr and tell him straight up that this pain is unbearable and something needs to be done about it because it's affecting your ability to carry out your daily functions and your quality of life is really suffering. Don't sugar coat it and be very matter of fact and look him straight in the eye as you would a child that needs to give you an honest answer. Sometimes they forget we're human and just see the papers in front of thier face.

Still shuffling. Couldn't sleep at all last night because of the pain... now I am beginning to worry that there is something else... that it isn't RA... maybe I am crazy? Somehow I have to figure out how to get to the store to buy yet another pair of shoes that might allow me to be more comfortable... been trying to do this for the last three weekends... This time I need to get out... I need other things... I don't know, like groceries.... Thank you for asking... Want to know what is freaky... when i did doze off I dreamt about removing my own legs to take away the worst of the pain... that is a bit scarey to me... Think it is time for a cane/walker... can't keep crawling around my house... darn it I feel so useless.

Thank you all for your support. Don't know what I would do without other people who know what this is like. I have been very down about all of this. I see how people at work will start to avoid asking me to help now I guess because they see how I walk... that just bothers me. I was doing so well on the pred but I needed to know if the MTX was working at all and they wanted me to wean off of it, so I did and now I don't really want to go back on it as I am also trying to drop some weight, because the people who are closer to me say that if I lost weight I would feel better and I know I wont because the whole reason I gained weight was from not being as active as I used to be. I want so much to be able to do what I used to do. I don't even know who I am anymore. I am sorry I am whining so much I just don't know what to do and though I am going to ask for something more what if they or my insurance says NO? If this happens I doubt I will be working in the next couple months as I and my family can see the decline it isn't gradual at all, every day seems to be getting worse... is this normal?

Dear Bloo ~

Just wanted to write you quickly and say "I too feel your pain".  I've begun to have severe swelling in my joints (fingers, knees, ribcage, feet, and lower back) that is unusual and a new symptom for me.  Is this what you experience?  My labs have never shown positive rheumatoid factors...so they wont give me a definitive diagnosis, they just usually mention that its either lupus or ra - so to this day (2 yr timeframe trying to figure it out) I still don't know for certain.

I will keep you in my prayers today that you will be given the pain relief and disease-modifying drugs that you so desperately need.  Bless your heart, please stay strong as you can and hang in there.  You are cared about here, that's for sure.
