well ducky even a holiday wont stop the thread police. teehee

all i know about boxing day is that all the canadians i work with take the day off to visit their relatives and exchange gifts. being only minutes from canada many holidays and traditions spill over to our borders.
for me it is a day where i now am going to join the masses at target and find any great holiday buys..... so tata for now and wish me luck! yally

My main mission today is to do some laundry. I got some good news though the back spasms are not as bad. It is just burning skin and stabbos (stabbing pains) in groin. The back part was incredibly bad so if that doesn't come back...I will be grateful. I did wear the lidocain patch for about 20 hours for a while. It was terrible...the pain was very bad. Now I am back to two patches during the day which I am glad about. Well I'm not so glad but as long as I don't have the back spasms I am grateful.

Vrooooom Vroooooom.....that's the sound of a VW Beetle climbing the snow banks to get to the carport! It just keeps falling. Hot soup, tv, dozing in and out of consciousness, now that's an afternoon off work! I love the quiet of the house and there are no face lickers today.

Hi everyone - belated holiday wishes to all. Sorry I've been gone so long (I haven't been feeling well...long story). I need to catch up with everyone, but I do have to say CONGRAT'S to Erin -- woo hoo on getting approved retroactively no less. I'm very pleased for you.

Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected - we are having some strange weather here in Northern California. It's flipping freezing, but no rain/snow. My hands are starting to look like claws from the cold!

Hey Bear, how was your "sitting around in your boxers watching boxing day"?

Haven't said CONGRATS to you yet Erin.  That is the best news I've heard in long time.  You sure deserve it.

Snow finally stopped.  We got 4 1/2 inches.  It is so pretty and looking outside at the horses in the snow at dusk was breathtaking.  One of these days I'm going to send some pics to you all.

Time for some meds so I can sleep tonight.  This cold, wet weather is not good to my bod.

A belated Happy Boxing day to everyone,

Thanks for all the wonderful info, Bear, that was great..very interesting stuff.  Now if Boo and Joan were really right, we'd be celebrating that holiday here all the time.  With the four boys, their boxers and the fights, we got it covered all the way around..just kidding, about the fights anyway.  After that first night, they seemed to get it all out of their systems and all was well.  We had a great time, lots of fun, we got to laugh too, Boo!!  If was actually nice to watch them all sit around, talking, cutting up with their dad. First one left Christmas night, next one leaves sometime today(taking the extra dog with him...the cat will be SO relieved)  Seems to be have been non-stop company here though, and my station has rotated between the sink, the frig, or the stove.  One more big gathering on Sunday, then I hope we're done!! No daycare this week, and I'm even more tired than when I have all the little ones around. Maybe we will get a couple of quiet days before they all return on the 2nd.

where is the bhere...i mean wear is the bear...I did enjoy the wonderful story of boxing day. I would like to know Mr. Bear if thanksgiving day is celebrated in france? am just curious.

this lyrica is knocking me for a loop.

california jody...it is kind of icey here and windy. am within walking distance of the hudson river.

erin...am very happy for you...they sure make you go through paces for a measy pittance, don't they?

Hi Joan, the Bear is in Apsley in Hertfordshire, England. That is where the Bearis - google earth and seee for yourself. Nothing much to write home  about and if Apsley doesn't show try Two Waters which is an older name, it's all now a part of Hemel Hempstead. [anus of the county].

Have a good weekend people and we think we got the money so the move is back on.

Very icy here and I'm not talking about the weather.  Ugh.  I'm so sick of this.  Seems to always come at a time when my body is at its worst and I can't move, fall asleep, think......  I think the hubby has become a predator.  He knows exactly when to strike.  I don't react anymore though.  That takes the wind out his sail. 

Ok, that off my chest......I'm off today and having my coffee with my Friends here at The Healing Well Cafe.  Such a nice, warm place to be.  My favorite times are spent here. 

So glad the $$$$$ situation has remedied itself, Bear.  Hope you get to move very soon.  I know you are running over each other where you are.  I think I told you....we did the same thing with my mother.  We had the most wonderful house, room for every kid + my mother to have her own little suite.  It was a beautiful old home with lots of character and room.  Old farm house.  I still drive by it every day getting home.  Very fond memories of my mom and me picking ripe tomatoes and her sticking them in her sweater pockets so she could pick every last one.  I'm so thankful to be able to see the spot where the garden was and have those memories. 

Very painful day today.  When I get on here and speak to you all I am reminded to not "gird myself for battle" as that makes things worse.  I'll not rise to the occasion today.  I'll go with the flow and let the words roll off my back.  I'll ask the Cherubs in my china cabinet to surround me today and carry me through.  Thanks for listening,  Boo

bear glad tiddings come your, way gifts from boxing day.  and so i will say, and i am sure you pray, that this prose will not stay.

tee hee sorry for the bad poem but you get the jeest of it?

 

me i seem to have woken to a heat wave?????? feels like high forties maybe 50 outside and overnight all the snow has melted and the grass

is green.

 

as for me i am the usual stiff sore ackey breaky self hoping that after a morning fumeral i can rest the remainder of my day away!  hey a gal can hope?

 

but for now a dear friends mother has passesd and hubby is a paulbearer so i must get ready and so peace be with you all.

me too yally, ours is kind of muddy green but the sky is pretty blue and the clouds look like delicate mounds of snow

joan, nice tunes........i dont know how to tell you this but i dont think bear would know about frances customs as he lives in england. teehee.... of course i am not answering for him....well maybe kinda (sry) but i think the beer here is a good way to celebrate any holiday? as far as i know only2 countries celebrate the new world- the US in november and canada in october on columbus day. i hope i didnt hijack that question on you joan and bear.

me i really dont like beer. sry but unless it is watered down which i am certain ruins it- i dont like it. but speaking of france tonight we feast with champagne. real champange from france. all others are just sparkling wines. although i do love my asti spumante! truthfully any beverage with a tickle under my nose will do tonight. so celebrate my dear friends but dont drink and drive!!!!! walk very swayed......

Hi yally I agree with you but had a young man say they celebrate Thanksgiving in France. I actually looked it up on the internet and most of the holidays were religious and there were a lot of them.

I don't like beer much either and I love white merlot or spiced wine now. I used to like zin but now I prefer a FULLER BOUQUET. Did you get any snow last night. We did and more is promised for tomorrow. It is pretty though and melted so fast.

This is a very sober bear welcoming in the new year from downtown Apsley where we all gather at the crossroads and dance around the traffic lights come new year and evetrybody wishes everybody else peace and goodwill and then go back to treating each other like pieces of meat - present company excused of course. Awful load of hypocracy around this time of the year but if even one person changes for the goood surely it must be possible to put up with the shiite to get the cream?

I do hoope that evertbody here has a tremendous 2008.#

Yally - that all goees welll for you and that you don;t have to endure pain for much longer.

Boo - that you find a viable buyer for your business that will enable you to reach fulfillent and see the world. that;s the place just beyond Orange County.

erin - that you remember who your friends are when you inherit your considerable wealth from the government benefit Agency - you'll need a bucket in a barrow to get your small change to the pub.

mon2four - More power to your elbow and may all your troubes be of hte totlly irrevelant variety.

Babyspace - hte special award for looking after otther people's children - do you do it with  mother in laws please? pretty pleasse?

Raven - rock chique will never dieas long as you have the 'access all areeas' ID. The bear cub is up for correspondence with your boy/son/man will send the details by email.

Ducky - who is sooooooooooo generous with her colds, many thanks for the policing of the thread and may ealy 2008 be the best part of the year.

Camama, elcamino, starrnr, babybloo, curley, and everybody on the Arthritis thread - [forgive me if I have not remembered your tag] may 2008 be the best ever yet despite aall of our lodgers trying to  make life awkward fro us and lelt hope that this is the year when breakthroughs occur in the treatment and cure of RA and PD. Now that would be  a year for celebrating would'nt it eh?

Ah, yes, Yally.  I love my Asti.  Doesn't mix well with my meds these days though.  Used to keep the little bottles in the fridge and have a wind-down glass or two or three.....

Happy New Year to everyone!  This is the first time in 9 years I haven't had the oldest grandson with me on New Years Eve.  Little lost but oh well.  I'll have a spa night.  Hubby gone to his meeting and will be staying for the sober New Years party.  Pretty good idea for some folks who are living without alcohol.  I've chosen to stay home.  Sinuses are giving me fits.  Another z-pak is needed.

Quiet night here in Florida..youngest son and his girl were here for some Chinese take-out and watched a bit of a movie with me. Now they are off to a party with friends, and hubby is fast alseep. So, let's all raise our glasses of Asti (don't I wish!!) and toast in the New Year (That was always a favorite of mine, too, Martini and Rosi please).You all know that I wish only the absolute best for each and every one of you, my dear friends, and yes, Bear, a year of cures would be a most awesome thing to celebrate.

well lets see finally got to bed at 230 am...... woke up at 530 regular time........ was at the supermarket by 615 am and just finished making 4 huge turkey subs 10 cups of hot cocoa and literally stopped typing to take out the batch of brownies!  why you ask?  it is the winter ice bowl here in town big hockey game televised all over i do believe so sit down and watch the game as both my youngins are attending and it is snowing and cold with wwind picking up later today and my kidos are in the nose bleeds with the full force of windchill coming at them! so i want them to have full tummies as they tailgate before and after the game.  now dont be impressed with my mommy skills as if i truely were good i would have bought the stuff yesterday but i did work all day and then dinner and a nap so........... here i am  up and bushy tailed.

 

ducky and rory our verizon phone service died last night! not signal for over 2 hours all across the area but i did finally get some happy texts around 230 am! just as i was settleing in...... i didnt think you wanted a reply then?????????? teeheee 

 

well gotta finsh my tailgate party hugs to all and bear tune in your sattelite it is an outdoor game in the snow and gonna be fun! me i am gonna sit in my warm home and pray the kidos dont get frost bite! we live about 10 min from the stadium if that, so if need be mom will come to the rescue but they will be 73,000 fans there so i am staying far away and tight at home.......... til later  yally

Happy 2008 all!

Oh Yally, don't think I'll trade with your girls,though it does sound like fun.....but..hubby and I have tickets to the Outback Bowl in Tampa, will be leaving shortly.  The University of Wisconisn (Yeah!) will play the Tennessee Volunteers. It's supposed to be in the 60's, but temps falling this afternoon, and could be in the 30's here by morning.  Not bad for most of you...but COLD for us wimpy Floridians.  They are talking possibly even the 20's by Thursday morning which already has some of the citrus and strawberry farmers very nervous. Not good temps for our tropical climate.

Only three weeks now til surgery, right? I went to the rheumy yesterday, and she wants me to take another stab (sry, couldn't resist) at Enbrel. She's not certain that I didn't have some sort of allergic reaction, but only way to know for sure is to try again. So...will try another injection tomorrow and hope for the best.  Sinuses are still not really the best, so I'm a bit nervous..but will give it shot (I know, another bad joke) Haven't taken mtx for 2 weeks because of all the antibiotics, and boy does my body know it!!   Can't even imagine how you feel after being off everything for so long.

Well, time to run, hubby is  pacing, looking at his watch...my not so subtle signal to get the lead out.
