Ginni, I want to welcome you to the forum. It is probably going to be quite around here for the next few days because of the holiday but others will drop by to say hello soon and you will find lots of support and knowledge among the forum members. We are all going through similar circumstances. You did not say what dose of your meds you are on or exactly when you started the MTX but it generally takes 2 months or more for it to really kick in. (That is two months after you get to 15-20mgs). If after that time you are not seeing significant progress your doctor may want to add plaq or one of the biologics such as Enbrel. Many here on the forum (though I am not one of them) have been on MTX and Enbrel it is a very effective combination.
I know that the process of getting a diagnosis and then getting effective treatment is long and frustrating but for most of us it does happen. Eventually you find the med that gives you your life back. It may not be exactly the life you had before but it will be a good life anyway.

Hi Ginni...Sorry to hear you have RA and yes it does get depressing. There have been many times when I thought maybe this is in my mind, and I need to go see a psych???  I have had  it going on three years and I'm still waiting for my miraculous remission, and my doctor just humors me at this point as does everyone else.  I am now on Enbrel,MTX, Plaquenil, and have even taken some pretty strong pain medications to deal with it.  This is the place for support since there are so many of us in the same boat.
