Wow! Great to see you all! It seems like it's been a long time.

Mom, the quick test came back negative. The long test came back with something other than strep. They said it was probably the cocksakie virus that's going around. I ended up getting extremely sick by the end of the week and spent 4 days in bed and was still pretty under the weather all week. I'm dragging  a bit and still congested, but finally on the mend (it would seem). My feet went bad for a few days...it was terrible..not helping at all! To boot, I came down with some female issues as well and got antibiotics for a UTI...which are making me feel ill as well. shakehead   It could be worse, and I'm getting better...that's all I can ask for.

shocked  Goodness gracious, CaMama.  I sure hope you are starting to get better.  When it rains, it pours, huh?

I'm getting the rest of my stitches out today.  I'm not complaining, not at all, but I'm ready to scratch my head off.  Have I ever even mentioned that I had a face lift?  Hate to admit it with all the problems every one has.  I've wanted this forever so I just did it.  Bell's Palsy left me pretty messed up for the last 34 years. 

It is raining cats and dogs here.  It's almost 5:00 am and the thunder woke me.  Friday night was touch and go and I had my "cellar bag" ready by the back door.  Not in love with Oklahoma weather especially spring tornadoes.  They pop up in seconds. 

Allergies are kicking my behind too.  I'm ready to stick tissues up my nostrils and just walk around the house like that.  So there is your vision for today.  Ha.

Here's to a great Monday (raising my mug of coffee).

Camama...Bless your heart!!! What a miserable few days you have had, I'm sorry you have been sick and with a UTI to go along with it.  Those are awful...Azo works wonders, if you haven't already taken them.  I have the Interstitial cystitis so its pretty much like a never ending UTI, and I went into the doctor many times thinking that is what I had only to be told no you don't have one, but I take Azo a lot and it works great.  Glad to hear you are on the mend.

Boo..I'm really happy for you, and I hope you get great results after your lift.  We have a friend whose mother had a lift and it tooks years off of her, and she looks great.  I have thought about doing something with my crows feet since I'm getting close to the big 40 but who knows!

Not much to moan about around here..my husband and I made the 1200 mile drive to Kansas and back yesterday to pick up my children, and it is just a long and tedious drive! My joints are really complaining today and I'm just sore and hurting.  I've been flaring the last couple of weeks with all of the rain that we have been getting and it looks as if more is on the way.

Oooowee, mom, that's quite a drive.  I know what you mean.  I'm usually hanging on to the car door for dear life when hubby is driving on the interstate. 

I got the stitches out today and look a little better.  I went to a shoe store and tried on high heels, walked around the store in them, felt like a lady, but after a few minutes remembered why I don' t have high heels anymore and put them back.  It was kinda fun though.  The toe joints are actually still hurting from that excursion.

Boo, I hear ya...always good to feel like a lady every now and again! Good thing your feet brought you to your senses before you spent the big bucks on the heels! tongue   I wish I could "dress up" the feet now and again, oh well....

I hope you are happy with your surgery results and the rest of the healing process goes quickly.

Mom, I don't know what I'd do with a constant UTI issues...I have them constant enough and it's awful! sad   I'm sorry to hear that. What is Azo, by the way? I just bought some cranberry pills yesterday and some yogurt.

We're off to Utah for our summer trip. . I'm way behind being ready b/c of being sick. Ugh...but, I am better today and only 2 more antibiotics before I'm done with them. yeah!

Camama...in case you get another UTI, you can get the AZO's at your local drug store, or if you get a script from your doctor its under the name of pyridiame (sp?) trust me, the first couple of days with a uti and they are worth their weight in gold :-) I take them all of the time for my IC symptoms and they do work wonders! Takes away all of the horrid burning, trust me!

Boo.It was quite a drive and its more of a fact that we turn right around and drive back so there is no break in between.  I know what you mean about the shoes...I bought a cute little pair for my anniversay with hubby and they weren't really all that high but without straps, and by the nights end shakehead holey moley did my feet hurt! I guess I can join the club because I can't wear them like I used to and will add them to the collection for my daughter.

Hello all, I have been busy with unpacking, doing my physical therapy and working a lot.
My contract negotiations are on today-first meeting was today and I asked for a substantial raise=lets see what happens with that.
My physical therapist is awesome-I was afraid that I would end up with someone with no knowledge of RA but my therapist is awesome about finding ways to rehab my shoulder without hurting my fingers.
She also treats me like I am made of glass. Heat, electric stim and ultra sound with massage before working out. Heat and electric stim after the exersizes.

I am laughing at your shoe comments-I have resorted more and more to sneakers even at work because most shoes make my feet hurt.

I hope to be back on the boards more often now.

Hi everyone, I've just got back from New Zealand, My parents Diamond wedding anniversary. Pretty emotional time, shocking how much your parents shrink when they're old and I haven't seen them for 2 1/2 years!!! Wonderful though. They have moved into a retirement village and I'm happy they are now close to my sisters.
I bought myself some Naot's they're high heals from Israel that are orthotic based so you don't feel like you're in heals at all. I lasted for about 4 hours and I haven't been able to wear heals in years because of my hips and knees and toes!!! So if you can get Naots they're wonderful!
Also started PT but only 1 session so far I was pretty sore afterwards but she seems very good, I'm hopeful it will help me rebuild some muscle...have to fly, work calls, golitho.

I just have a question about the physical therapy as I've noticed several are doing it.  Is this used for RA? and if so does it help with joint pain/swelling? I always thought it was used for injuries and such.
