How many are RA neg?

I was just wondering how many of you are RA neg but definately have RA? My blood tests never show RA but I have all the symptoms of RA. Also, how long does it take the Plaquinil to kick in? It has been 2 months now and I am not seeing a difference.

I'm RA negative. They call it sero negative arthritis. As I answered on your other post, go back to your rheumy and tell them its not working yet. Having said that I think its 3 months till it kicks in, but you should notice improvements and if you're not I'd go back. RA can be such a struggle to sort out. Goodluck, golito

I'm sero-negative and have never had a positive RA factor. Plaquinil is wonderful and takes around 3 to 4 months to get the full benefit. When it does kick it, it can help with the pain and increase your energy level, at least it did for me. Do make sure you have had a baseline eye exam that is for plaquinil users. I took it for two years and then had to discontinue because it was damaging my vision. I really miss taking it!

I am not sero negative but I wanted to tell you not to give up on the plaquenel. It is my favorite drug for arthritis. It is a bit subtle and takes a while to kick in 3-4 months is about right. What it does in take away some of the awfull fatigue and systemic problems like fevers.
