Sulfasalazine

I have ulcerative colitis and arthritis and my rhematologist is trying to treat both with one med. The first of the year he is putting me on Sulfasalazine. Is anyone on here taking this? I would love to hear the good and bads of this and any suggestions you have for me while taking this. Thank you

Hi Jano, I took this med for awhile. It was never strong enough for me on its own, but once mixed with methotrexate, it really helped me. It was slow to kick in. Took about 3 months to work.

The negatives were I ran out of white blood cells after being on it for a year or so! But I felt ok!!!
