Come back steroids, all is forgiven!

Hi all i'm in a bit of a pickle. Was put on Oramorph (liquid morphine) 2 mondays ago for my arthritic pain. By the friday when GP could see how much I needed He put me on MST (12hr slow release) with the option of taking a spoonful of Oramorph (10mg) If needed. At first wasn't taking it some days, other days maybe just one spoon at a push 2. Came of course of steroids last Tuesday and already in last few days my joints have swollen, got hot and are very painful. I'm now taking 4-5 spoons. Don't even know If this is too much? Switched from 7months of mtx pills to mtx injections 4wks ago but have to go another two weeks till I can see Rheumy as they said they'll take 6wks to kick in but last bloods a week and a half ago CRP was 38.8. Don't really know what to do. Can't sleep or do my daily tasks. It's really getting me down. Should I call my GP for some advice? At the end of my tether and hate feeling sorry for myself!

Hi! Thanks for replying. When I see Rheumy after 6 injections they've said If still bad they'll prob introduce a biologic. I'm in the UK and we have certain crieteria to fit before you can be put on one. Just hope I fit the crieteria.

Hi wearyRAsufferer! As it turns out I should've come off the pred gradually. I was due to be seen few weeks ago but told no apts so would be seen after 6th shot If still in pain. Things got worse and got seen Monday. Because I was due to be seen they would of explained then about gradual reduction but it never happened. Back on pred, increasing mtx shots for month then month again. They are also checking out If I can use Biologics coz i'm in remission from a brain disease and they don't know If they will cause it to flare. Just a case of wait and see. X

Can you call your rhuemy for advice?
I would and I would get in to see her early if I needed to.
But, my rhuemy would call back within an hour and she would fix things.
