I'm not sure I'm in the right place. I know I have arthiritus in my knees. I've had a TKR. I know the knees hurt from OA. But I've also got tremendous pain in hands, especially in my little fingers. They turn in towards my thumbs & down a bit. Even the slightest bump makes me sees stars it hurts so bad & the joint is hot. I hit it yesterday & I had to run it under cold water. My question is, does this sound like RA?

hard to say - have you been to the doctor? It almost sounds like an infection, but it could be a severely swollen area too.
I'm not sure what a TKR is....

Which finger joints? (Knuckle, Metacarpo', or Distal') is the pain fairly acute or are the joints tender? Any swelling? Any other side effects such as malaise/lethargy/undue exhaustian? Is it worse in the morning?

I don't know the names of the joints, but my problem is in the joint closest to the nail. Which one is that. And for the preceeding post, TKR is a Total Knee Replacement.

When it is close to the tip of the fingers that tends to be OA, but I am not a Dr. Autoimmune disease tends to run together. I would def. get in to have it checked. Any change in pain placement is a sign that you need to be checked and your bodies way of saying something isn't right. Good luck. Keep us posted. Heather

The joint of your Distal Phalanges (nearest the tip), as mama said, is often OA, however it can also be PsA (psoriatic), and for this you do not need to have ever had psoriasis. Tenderness in the fingertips is not a common symptom, as far as I am aware at least, of RA.
If you're feeling malaise/generally unwell as well, then i'd lean away from OA and look towards PsA or perhaps RA, but don't take action on anything I say as I am not a physician (I'm just a scientist with arthritis!)
I hope you can sort it out and get some appropriate treatment :)
