I think I'd re contact the doctor and ask fora copy of the x rays and take them for a second opinion to another rheumy.
You can definately have normal bloodwork and have sero negative arthritis. Mine was diagnosed because I had two swollen knees which after 3 months on anti inflammatories didn't go away, so then they tried me on sulphursolasine and then it went on from there....
So try another specialist, get a second opinion. My rheumy said it often doesn't turn up in your blood till years later?
