Three times over the last two weeks I've woken up exhausted after 9 hours sleep in a blind panic, full of anxiety for no particular reason. Used Hydroxyzine and Tramadol to try and ease it, but it had little effect.

Not sure if this is induced by domperidone (used for nausea), or is an effect due to Fibromyalgia...

So... Xanax? Valium? What do I need? There is no psychological cause for this, so it must be pathologic - work load isn't getting on top of me, and there's nothing I need to be worrying about... I'm generally overly laid-back actually...........

Going to go to the drs this week and take a few days off University and head back home as I'm feeling pretty exhausted without doing much, and I'm sure I'll be met with a reluctance to actually be treated..... after all, this is England, and medication is taboo.

It sounds like you need a holiday! Tropical island somewhere, palm trees, crystal clear water, warm sun, cocktails while lying on your beach chair.
Sorry Jay, can't help medically. Sounds as if it could be medication based if you don't normally have panic attacks. Some of those meds can mess with your thinking, I'd be talking to your general doctor. Is he or she good?
I know when I went through that 7 week period of migraines, it was worked out that it was medication fuelled. I hadn't had a migraine for 30 years! Anyway, I haven't had one since, once they changed my meds.

I have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks since my late twenties. Panic is under control with a prescrip for xannax on me at all times. Just knowing I have it and knowing it will thwart a bad attack within 15 mins has made the attacks very few and long between. Deep breathing helps a lot and reminding myself exactly what it is and how it really can't harm me puts me back in the right place. If I feel extra anxious I take a half to prevent an attack.
I wish you all the best in getting things back to calm. You are leading a very stressful life with school and full time + work.....on top of your PsA.

Jay let us know how was the doctor appointment. How is your lost of appetite? back to normal ?? as everything together doesn't sound good. Wish I could help... and wish that you'll feel better soon!!!

I'm on a mild antidepressant called Lexapro.  I didn't have anxiety attacks as bad as yours, but was anxious & stressed all the time.  Lovely med-no, it's not all flowers & butterflies now, but life is better.  I love the tropical holiday idea, but the funds to cover that aren't in my life right now.

I think I might just buy an island.

I've put it down to domperidone as it's very out of character and it seems to co-incide with taking it although correlation doesn't necessarily imply causation.

The doctor doubled the dose of amitriptyline to 50mg, but nothing else. I asked for a muscle relaxant for back pain and insomnia as a temporary measure as I'm on the waiting list to see a pain specialist, but he said it wasn't standard treatment and he wants to follow protocol... which merely means I have to import them myself if the health-care system cannot provide!
