Hi Spicey,
I too worry about the side effects of the meds we take.
I once asked my GP how the hell they would know if I had Lymphoma/Leukemia when my bloods are so bad and she just said that we would know - huh?
I have had a reaction to Imuran a Crohns med which gave me acute pancreatitis - I was not impressed to think that our meds could be worse than the disease they treat and I now procrastinate about trying anything new due to this happening.
I was once told. years ago. by my Rheumy when I was first offered MTX that my Crohns disease, left untreated, would kill me quicker than the MTX - blunt I know, but he put it in perspective for me really.
Down the track now of having been on MTX for 6+ years and 7 years of prednisone I am having some 'issues' with my weakened immune system - gyno problems, skin cancer, dental problems and eye problems - but who;s to say its not just the disease itself doing this.
So, I will keep taking my Humira and MTX for quality of life and worry about what happens as it arises, thats all we can all do I guess
Take care,
Jo
