Wow I slept all night last nite! What a treat I can not remember when!!! I will continue from last session. Don't know if I'm doing it right and if not please excuse me I don't mean any harm. My wife and I love and so much appreciate the forum. And sydneyjo don't hesitate a bit to correct me if I make the slightest booboo!
To continue;
I was off work 6 months and my disability carrier was so sorry (Hartford) that I went back to work. I was able to get by taking pain meds and aleve. It was 08 and I started trying to ignore my disease and quit going to doctors except my GP for pain meds. The aleve started hurting my stomach (it reduces the protective mucus). He passed away and I went back to my rheumy. In 2010 She started me on celebrex which did Nothing, then mobic again, it helped a little when I was able to take it, stomach again. My L wrist started hurting so bad I went to an ortho and he suspected pseudogout (google that!). I told my rheumy and she put me on 7.5 mg of mobic 2 x a day and colchicine. I kept gettin worse and it was really tough to work and I was just squinching by. I did all kinds of mechanic work and very heavy mechanical repairs at times. I called my rheumy and told her I had to have some relief and could I try prednisone. She gave me 5 mg a day and it helped a lot. After a couple of weeks here comes the pain again so I stopped it. I told her after I couldn't stand it anymore and she said take 10 mg one day, 7.5 for a week then go back to 5. It worked really great but on day 2 of 5 mg here it comes again. @ weeks of that and she ok'd 7.5 daily and that is where I am now and it keeps the pain to where I can make it OK with 10-325 Norco. That is where I am now and I started .3 mg injection of mtx day B4 yesterday. It made me hurt so bad yesterday and got worse as the day went by. When I got up yesterday morn it felt sort of like my muscles fibers were a bit shorter from my neck down and I hurt in new places to boot. Plus my lumbar is killin me again and B4 the mtx it was not much of a bother, I call it my normal pain level there. This morning I'm a bit better but my elbows are telling me to quit typing rite now. Been up an hour and it's time for a norco. The pain is coming and going in different places so I'm going to call her and report it since it's not gettin better. No nausea at all (Thank God!) but feel a Little sluggish and moving slower due to pain. One part I left out is the shooting pains like lightening. My darlin made me go to a nuerologist and she ran me through a cattle prod session, that was an exciting experience! I've heard it was horrible but the guy that did me warned me on the bad ones so I could Bow Up first! I told him payback would B dispensed after the first one without a warning, that was after I peeled myself off the ceiling. She said I had neuropathy (nerve pain) she put me on gabbapentin. Didn't want 2 take it but what choice did I have. Pain will make you try stuff U don't want and I know I'm preachin 2 the chior! Well it actually made me mean and my wife and I knew that was causing it and it made my pain even worse (my darlin burns the internet up tryin 2 help me and she found where the gabba reduces pain med effect). Went back to her and she gave me Cymbalta, well my honey said don't dare swallow it till I research it. She did and I ain't took it cause it is a mind altering drug (gabba is too) that is also used to treat nerve pain. I have enough problems without warping my mind worse than it already is. I have numb toes and it's spreading up my right leg, the 7.5 pred has made it stop climbing and got it dropped to the ankle area. Part of the numbness is from my back. The neuro says she's pretty sure I have one of two nerve pain disease and she needs to alter or supress my immune system after doing a dna test 2 see which it is. Well I ain't went back, the dna results will affect my /and/ my cherished daughters insurance rates for the rest of her life. I probably could spend a couple of days penning my thoughts on insurance companies so I'll just say I view them the same way they do me, a necassary evil.And some of the ins. agents as well, but there are some good folks that are agents and may God bless them! On top of all that been dealing with hypoglycemia (low sugar) which the prednisone almost cured. Go a few years without a bite of dessert or a honey bun, candy bar or milk and you will see what a wonderfull pleasure they truely are! I don't have a lot of room for food as my honey has me on supplements. Hey can you believe that the pred cut my appetite and I lost 12 lbs. between 3 month appointment, my rheumy was shocked. I told her I was oddly special! I guess thats all the main stuff, hope I didn't put no one 2 sleep!
