Hello, my name is Will, and I was just diagnosed with OPLL last week. I was diagnosed a month ago and the condition confirmed last Friday by Dr. Leary last Friday. I am 40 years old, scared to death, and confused beyond words. This was all triggered by a car accident I was involved in a month ago when a lady hit me and spun me around in my car. They say the "acute trauma" triggered the OPLL and the problems that have arisen since then. I can't sleep, feels like bugs are crawling over me, I'm twitchy in the legs, have no feeling in my left arm, or hand, always feels like it's asleep, major neck pain, and loss of control over my bladder. I'm embarrassed, I'm a stand up comedian who can barely get on stage without it hurting, can't stop crying, afraid I'm going to piss myself all the time, I'm depressed as hell, and am overly anxious due to full spinal MRI in the morning. Has anyone else had this triggered due to a car accident?

I believe my fibromylgia and other autoimmune disease's were trigger by a car accident I had in 1997.
So yep I can believe that this can be related to your car accident...ours was a front end car accident
she failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and turned left into us, which I got most of the impact
of, the doctor at the time in the er said I had sprained the whole left side of my spine...
let the tech know your nervous about
the mri they can have you use ear plugs and cover your eye's
hardest part is the c spine part...
Sure wish I could tell you it'll gets better...have you started physical therapy yet??? it can help...
well wishes

Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the spine: Abnormal calcification of a spinal ligament. The progressive calcification can starts within months of birth and affects the ability to move arms and legs. The severity of the condition is highly variable with most patients noticing symptoms in the sixth decade.
I was wondering what OPLL was and pulled up this.
While I don't have OPLL My autoimmune disease was triggered I believe by some surgery I had two years ago. I have Lupus.
