Now I think the Iritis back

woke up this morning with symptoms of the Iritis and will have to call the eye specialist.   Every day it's something and another trip to a doctor.   Still have the rash or whatever if is since I had the remicade infusion.  Am on prednisone and supposed to go back on the humira today.   Wonder what's going to kill me quicker the drugs or the diseases!   So tired of all of this and just want a few days of feeling normal again.   Sorry, just needed to whine a little

Sorry to hear about the Iritis. My husband has had a few bouts with that, and it is not fun! Hope you can get in to see the eye doc quickly. So, they say your rash is Psorasis? Is the prednisone helping the rash? Hope you feel better soon, Alicat. You have had a rough patch here lately.

Sorry about all the reactions your having...I'm also having a hard time with just the mtx...
and seems like when it rains it pours...Sure hope your feeling much better sooner with
low pain levels and call your RA to let him know everything that is happening, your doctor
needs to be aware of this...

I'm so sorry Alicat, I feel your pain. I too suffer with bouts of Iritis and its extremely painful, my eyes felt like they were going to explode, I never thought eyes could be that painful. You really must get to the eye specialist asap, my doc refers me the same day when I get it and they fit me in every time. I also understand you feel like it never ends I have felt that way too as I have crohns/colitis, RA and Iritis and also suffer with adhesions in my small intestine since having my ileostomy done. I'm taking humira and methotrexate injections for the RA and sometimes don't feel as though its doing a thing. Hang in there and keep us posted, Don't let them make you wait. All the best

When it rains it pours doesn't it? I hate that. It makes you feel overwhelmed, angry and depressed.

Hope things turn around for you soon.

BTW what does iritis feel like? I have had several episodes where my eyes hurt when I move them- kind of like the way eyes feel when you hae a flu. I have always just pushed through it and a few days later it's gone.

Iritis won't go on its own without treatment, I am usually put on antibiotic drops and cortisone drops to clear it up. The pain is so bad the eyeball throbs and extremely sensitive to light, I could barely open my eyes they were so bad and left untreated can be dangerous, can lead to loss of sight.

Thanks Doreen- that is not what I experience and good to know it doesn't go away without treatment. I was always worrying I may be doing myself damage with my stubborness of neglecting to see a dr.

I found this trick out by my regular doctor and it can soothe your eye,
boil an egg, then put it in a towel while it's still hot and use as a compress
it retains the heat for a lot longer than anything else and it helps...
so try warm compresses, I have chronic eye infections and I use several
eye drops and I also have eye plugs in due to sjogrens dry eyes
make it easier for infections..so I do know how painful infections can be..
I hope your eyes are feeling better soon, but don't forget to see your
eye doctor, well wishes to you and keep us posted...
