Psoriatic arthritis just diagnosed

Hi, I am a 40 year old male and just diagnosed with PA. Is that how to say it on the boards?

I am 6' 2" 265lbs and it used to be mostly muscle. I have a strong family history of auto immune disease, and I am h HLA - b27 positive like my mom.

This all started when after years of back pain I finally had an MRI which shows three disks in my lower back with varying degrees of tears and fluid leakage. It also showed a slight tilt in my lowest vertebra.

My mom is 57 and had both knees replaced TWICE. She is also a nurse.

She does not have PA.

I guess I'm just looking for feedback and some help on what treatments have helped others with PA.

I'm also shocked that this has happened so fast and seems to be getting worse at a very rapid rate for me. Is that normal?

I am currently being treated only for pain caused by my back and neck injuries so am on Opana ER along with Norco for breakthrough pain, and Zipsor. But all of that was before my diagnosis.

Any suggestions or stories about what my next step will be and what has worked for others would be really appreciated.
