Hi. I am wondering if a person can have negative blood work done years ago and have it come back as positive now?

Yes, this happens a lot, Softy. Or...the blood work can stay negative, especially for RF, and the person can still have an aggressive type of RA. I am one of those people. RF has never been positive, to my knowledge. Inflammation markers are out of whack, though.

Bloodwork fluctuates and is not always the only thing to go by for doctors...
So make sure your doctor follows up the bloodwork with either a bone scan or mri to check how your RA is progressing.
