hi my gf and i are wanting to attempt to have a baby

she is a RA sufferer

Is there a test to see if the arava is still in her system so we can attempt safely to concieve ??

everything i have read says a blood test can do it how ever our GP has advised that there is nothing

she has tried drinking the rapid washout but cant stand the texture and the second it goes in she vomits it back up

can anyone offer any further advise??

Her rheumy should be able to give the right half life information of how long it takes to get out of your system, it is usually in the arava notes too or online even. They are so careful about litigations over pregnancy I'm sure there is a wealth of information out there if you ask.

yeah all the info thats been read said it can take up to 2 years

but says even then you should test to see if it is completely out of the system'

Wow 2 years. I never realised it took that long I was thinking 2 months!!! Amazing how toxic this stuff is we just pour into our bodies.
Goodluck with it all and I'm sure the rheumy would know all the info you need. I know the infusion nurse at the hospital was a mine of information too. Easier to talk too as well.
Pregnancy is suppose to be good for RA symptoms, sort of gives you a break from what I've read but then it can get tough afterwards again.
