I had another round of bloodwork done. Doc called & said, "Come in Monday, your RF is positive".
My RF has been positive since Sept (This is a new Rheum).
RF IgA - 4 (0.0-36)
RF IgG - 4 (0.0-20)
RF IgM - 41 (0.0-28)
Other two RF IgM were in the 40-50 range.
All these tests were negative/normal:
Hep B & C
Vit B-12
TSH 3G
CCP
Centromere
SCL-70
SSDNA
DSDNA
SM
RNPSM
SSA
SSB
CHROMATIN
ESR
CRP
CK
My Comp Metabolic panel were all normal except for a slightly low Creatin level.
CBC, all normal except for an elevated WBC, which is a re-occurring thing for me. It's not OMG high, just always slightly elevated.
My Vit D was low.
X-Rays of hands showed no damage.
Doc also did an "ANA Screen", which only lists "Screen A" and "Screen B", they were both in range at 3.0 (0.0-10). I had an ANA titer done in Sept which was speckled, but only a 1.40. A month later, it was run again and was normal/negative.
My symptoms are widespread muscle pain, mostly in hands/fingers/wrists, knees, ankles. I get worn out easily, and when this first hit, the fatigue was awful. Also my hands don't work right. i drop things a lot. They aren't numb or anything though. No inflammation. No swelling.
A previous Rheum suspected Fibro & put me gabapentin which helped the pain, but later the side effects forced me to stop it. I changed to a different Rheum who has me on Lyrica now. I'm taking 75mg 2x a day and have manageable aching.
In 2006 I was diagnosed with Hashimotos from a positive tga test, however after 6 weeks on meds, I was taken off & my thyroid has been level since, until Sept, when my TSH was low. A new Thyroid panel showed no tga antibodies at all.
Anyway.... can all tests be normal except RF and it still be RA? Especially when no outward or inward evidence of it exists?
My follow up appointment wasn't supposed to be until February, so them wanting me to come in this soon makes me think she wants to change my medication or something.
Anyone have any opinions? I can post a link to the actual lab work if any wants to have a look-see.
(posting to fibro forum too)
If you made it this far, thanks!
