Help!!!

I have rheumatoid and have been on nexium for years do to a small reflux problem.  It has been under control with no problems until I got sick and had a terrible cough.  I have a small hiatial hernia as well which has never given any problems.   I am on a low dose of predinsone 2.5 mg. everyday that I have to take along with my other meds for arthritis.   My question is have any of you every had burning in the sternum(sp?) area that accompanies some burning and belching?  Every since I had that severe cough back in November I have been having problems. Over the weekend I had terrible heartburn and had to eat tums.... Could the prednisone be adding to this problem?  I am so ready to come off of this.  I just don't understand why after that coughing I have began with all of this?  Any body out there got an answer for me?  Have you ever experienced this.

Hi sounds a bit like reflux,

i find when i take prednisone on empty tummy i feel sick

'you should always try to take it with food

Prednisone can definitely cause that feeling. When I'm on higher amounts my reflux med is increased.

thank you all so much. I have had my question answered once again. It really helps to know that there are others out there that have experienced the same things. Helps to know where to start getting help. I hope that each and every one of you have an awesome day and pain free most of all. Still have the nausea today but at least I am not vomiting with it. I see my rheumy next week so hopefully we will get this settled...
