antibiotic for RA

Hello, I wanted to ask it anyone has try a low dose antibitic for RA and got
good result instead or steriod dmards.

Sure, I was on sulfasalazine initially when I was diagnosed with RA. I took this for the first year and went into total remission for about 18 months. When I came out of remission we returned to it but it had about half the effectiveness. I was able to keep taking it for about another year before it stopped working altogether.

very good question...You'll find a lot of studies on the sulfa antibotics and RA, some people do get relieve with them, as my sjogrens is so bad I could not breath taking the sulfa antibotics as they dried me out and I drank over 2 gallons of water and it still got me so dried out...You can google antibotics and RA treatments...
However, if your on methotrexate try and stay away from amoxicillin as mtx can increase in your body with amoxicillin antibotics...
Your RA doctor should have some knowledge on this as well....

my GI doctor prescribed sulfasalazine, for my ulcerative colitis. I don't recall that it helped my RA, though. It did help to get my UC into remission, for a while.
