Des anyone have burning, tingling feet after walking a lot or running? In the morning when awakening? Need to wear cross trainers all the time -- no flip flops! No heels! No slippers! No flats! Pain like you need to avoid letting your feet touch the ground for the first 10 steps out of bed? With no swelling or pain on movement, no positive blood work, this symptom is a non symptom according to my former rheum. I quit going to him.

I have neuropathy in me feet and lower legs. What you describe is how my neuropathy first exhibited itself. You need to have a nerve conduction and EMG tests to determine if the nerves in your feet are functioning properly. These tests are normally done by a neurologist or physiatrist.

Thanks! Do you recall how long it took between the onset of symptoms to the diagnosis?

Hi Katie,
I get bad swelling along my tendon sheaths in my feet and it can entrap nerves and get really sore too. I've found orthotics have helped me the most as well as getting good work shoes. Recommended by the podiatrist.
My rheumy told me that it was a waste of my money and when I went back to her, she couldn't believe the improvement, she's taken my podiatrists name!
I was procrastinating about
the shoes and now I wish I'd bought them sooner.
Relieved so much of my pain, not all, but I am much better.

Hi,
I'm new to posting and forum, but saw your symptoms are similar to mine, so jumping in.
I have burning tingly feet all the time. Painful with any pressure, which means I'm not walking very much. Nerve conduction test confirmed nerve damage . I was diagnosed by foot docter with tarsal tunnel syndrome. But in small town in Alaska so medical help is not easy to come by. But I also have lupus,ra and fibro.
I have had good orthotics and shoes for last couple years due to plantar faciatiis, which had definitely helped at that time. Now they are saying maybe misdiagnosed and are talking about
surgery on both feet.

I have burning tingly feet - (I was just diagnosed with RA last week - and - diverticular associated colitus the week prior to that one). I also have fibromyalgia and the first few steps are a killer. Since going on medication for my fibro (Elavil), I can at least walk around in the a.m.
It is rather disheartening finding out I also have RA along with everything else.
I try to stretch my feet while still waking up and in bed before getting up and this has worked now for years.

Hi Katie, I have suffered from burning feet for a long time. I didn't realize it could be connected to my RA. My feet are always painful, worst at night. Due to a car accident I have herniated and prolapse discs in my lower back for years and believed the hot feet were related to that. I hear a hot water bottle filled with ice water is very helpful. I'm going to give that a try. Good luck, Neenaa.
