Ask your RA doctor about prescribing you the small diabetic needles which are about 1/2 inch size needle and I think they are the smallest ones out there, it's the one my doctor prescribes for me for my mtx injections and work just great...It can be scary doing the injections and if you have a hard time of it, call your doctor and ask to be shown how to do the injections, there are three places on your body, the upper arms which will require some help, the stomach area and the thighs...Hope this info helps and after about a few injections it starts getting more comfortable to do them, if you do the thigh area alternate legs such as left leg first day then right leg second injection, they are still only weekly injections and if you apply some ice to the area first it does help it's not required but it helps...It might help if you google "diabetic injections" to get a chart of the sites and how to inject, that helped me my first few times. Hope this info helps I always did my injections every Tuesday as Tuesday was my day at home to relax and unwind for the week and i would wash my hair after.
Many well wishes to you and hope this helped...
