Weak positive CCP antibodies

My doctor recently discovered weak positive (30) elevated CCP antibodies but negstive RF ..

Went to rhuematologist who was obnoxious but anyway she felt my joints looked fine and must be false positive

Should I go to another doctor ?
Get another opinion ..

I have been having pain for years but not consistent
Back pain then knee then foot then hip but it all comes and goes
This rheumatologist looked at my hands and said my joints looked fine..
She couldn't explain high sed rate ESR and CRP protein lebels being high either ..

Go back to your primary doctor, get another bloodwork scheduled and if the results are the same, find another RA doctor, as a good RA doctor will be better able to take care of you. A good RA doctor needs to look at all your joints and not just the hands. So very sorry you got treated badly by a doctor, kinda makes me want to come and yell at her...

Find another more compassionate doctor, especially if your second round of bloodwork has the same results...Make the doctor listen to you when you say you hurt! Stand up for yourself as you deserve better.

I agree with Chartreux, you definitely need to find another RA doctor.... sounds like the one I had before the one I have now... difference of night and day between the two. Hope you find a good one and hope you feel better soon. As far as your joints look good....that is a misnomer of sorts if its just getting started it hasn't had time to do damage yet... my joints look good for all that I have been through as well.

I keep reading that RA has symmetrical joint pain
I have hip pain on one side , knee on other ..
But read that CCP antibodies can be positive years before too
I will keep searching for another doctor

I have also read that RA has symmetrical pain, but *my* RA doesn't follow those rules. It started in my right foot and then about a week later moved to my left foot. Next was right hand, then left hand (again about a week after the right). Now my hands and feet usually have symmetrical pain, but I also get random pains in one knee, or in a hip. Occasionally one side of my jaw will hurt so bad that I don't want to eat.

I agree with the others that you need a new doctor. If you're willing to share your general location, maybe someone can make some recommendations for you.

Thank you ! But interesting because you had it though in both hands even though a week apart ..
I am in the NY area .. Prefer Long Island if possible ., hard to find a good dr for some reason ..

Sorry, I'm in Washington (state), so I'm not any help on a doctor. Hopefully someone else will have some information for you.
