yes im in another flare - why not just call it a fire and be done with it
I ve just had my Skype appointment with my Rheumy he's so nice
doesn't rush you and Listens shocked yes he dose
well ive felt like crap for last 2 weeks and my blood result confirmed why
all up
so increasing the prednisone for a few weeks to see if that helps
the Skype appointments are great but I tend to freeze and have to remind myself what I wanted to say
it's like he says how are you I say fine how are you !!
then I remember oh well actually I am not fine I feel BAD

Ouch! That stinks!

I think these storms rolling in lately are causing havoc with our bodies.
My fingers are fat sausages today and sore. My left foot and hip are griping.
My mom who has arthritis in her knee couldn't walk this morning.

I hate flares. :-p

I am sorry to hear that BadDay. I hope that you feel better and that the increase in meds helps break the cycle. Hang in there and know that you are not alone.

I'm so glad you contacted your doctor, it does seem like you've been in a bad flair now for a couple of weeks and I hope your doing better soon.
I just want to make a suggestion that you start journaling your flairs and then maybe talk with your RA doctor at your next scheduled appointment about another medication to try. I've noticed an increase in your flairs and you do need to have a heart to heart talk with your RA doctor and talk about medications, keep the lines of communications open you need it and if the prednisone doesn't help make a note of that as maybe a shot would help you better...I get injections in the backside every so often and it does help...
I really really hope you can get better control of these flairs and I'm so very sorry your having them so frequently...
Vent on here anytime you need it and you have my soft hugz and shoulder to lean on, but you do need to see if another medication might help you better...Omega-3's might help as well...
So hope your doing better...my finger crossed for you sweetie...

thanks guys I was actually annoyed I didn't explain to Rheumy just how bad its been and now I don't see him again till March . I will keep a diary tho that's a good idea because yes its been an ongoing flare most of this year .

Just a quick question for you, (hope you don't mind as I do forget thing) with your asthma and the respiratory failure Do you get pneumonia easy?

If that is the case then that's probably why your doctor won't treat you with the heavy duty meds like humira...my doctor also has his hands tied because I get pneumonia easy and thereby won't give me the meds in the humira group...

Then I can understand better why your flairing so often, your as hard to treat as me and basically the only meds is either pred or mtx..( I had reactions to plaqeunil and medrol dose packs) .

But a steroid injection may last you at least a month or more from a flair, last time I kept a record of how long the injection lasted fo me and I had about a 2 month help, might be worth looking into or asking about. Only down side is its a pain in the rear end type shot...

Hope this helps and so very sorry I forget things..

If you can take prednisone, you are lucky. I hope that the Dr. can get you out of this flare. I can't take prednisone anymore because it makes my blood sugar skyrocket. It worked so well for me too. I think the winter weather and changing barometric pressure doesn't help. Then, the flu is going around too. I got my shot but they say it may not work. Wonderful........... I hope you feel better soon!!!!

Hi Chartreux Yes I do Get Pneumonia Heaps I have lung problems last one nearly killed me that's why I got the pneumonia shot & get the Flu shot Religiously
I was on Humira for a short time but ended up with Bad Blood results they thought I had leukaemia it took over a year after I stopped taking it for them to return to normal,
he offered me Cimzia but I declined

I'm in the same kind of situation then as they only can use mtx or steroids...I can't get the pneumonia shot anymore as I had a reaction to it as the last time I had the shot and it required benadryl to stop the reaction for a couple of days...If only life was simple for us and that we had no reactions to medications...
vent away anytime then and I'm so very sorry...Sure hope the prednisone is helping....

Im so sorry BadDay.... I hope that the prednisone helps and quick.... I understand your pain. I am in between the two week dose of my infusion and Im also having extreme pain and aching. I think once I get the rest of my infusion this week I will feel some better then it hits again but gets better after awhile. Please do keep that journal as I know it will help you to keep your doctor up to date on how you are doing. I too forget if I don't have a note to take with me when I visit. Hugs to ya my friend
