Humira to Enbril and Back??

Has anyone used a biologic that quit working, moved on to another and then back to the first?
I had such awesome results with Humira, and then about 7 years into it, it quit working as well as it should and I was switched to Enbril, and while it works almost as well, I've had to add methotrexate and more prednisone to achieve the same results. Now that I've been off Humira for awhile I wonder how my body would respond if I went back to Humira???? Anyone out there that has had the experience, please let me know. Thanks so much! Beth tongue

Hi Beth, I took enbrel for 12 years but it began waning in effectiveness and I also started having an allergic reaction to it. I tried humira for 6 months but it didn't help nearly as much so my RA tried switching me back. In my case I had the same reaction as I had before and it was not nearly as effective as it had been those first years.

I moved on to orencia and methotrexate along with prednisone but I have been free from the pred now for about 6 months and doing ok.

It's worth a try that is for sure, I have talked with others who have been able to do this on occasion.
