new blood test

In a Arthritis magazine, there is a new blood test here in the USA.
It's called VectraDA and is a disease activity blood tests...
Might be worth asking your doctor about and make sure to ask if it covered by your health insurance as well...
Look into this , it's in Arthritis Today February 2015 issue and is sold at some Barnes and Nobles stores...

My RA doc does one of these on me every few months... he says it is way more accurate than the regular blood tests he does. By the way the test is very expensive but there is a form that you can fill out when you have it done and they will do it at no cost to you. Or mine does anyway.

Last year- I asked my doctor about this test when I kept complaining of symptoms that didn't present during my quarterly office visits and when all my blood tests came back as normal and he blew it off.

Not sure if I should bring it up to him again.

Recently convinced him that something's going on by presenting pictures of swelling.

I would definitely bring it up again. My ra doc says it's a lot more accurate.

My insurance doesn't cover it and it's expensive but my dr has a form to fill out and I've never had to pay. Ask your doctor about the form.

Please ask you MD or Rheumatologist to check for Anti-CCP this will validate for you and them that you have RA. That's the blood test that my Rheumatologist ran. My GP never tested for it and refused to believe that I had RA until I saw a specialist.
