Hi Shadow,
I am an employer and supervisor and I would strongly encourage you to show your employer the letter right off and express your willingness to work your shift and try to make do by using your "good" hand. If I had an employee with that willingness to work, I'd sure want to accommodate! I'd say that cutting your hours is illegal when you have a medical reason to modify your work load, but employers get away with that kinda crap all the time. I had a shot in my wrist and wore a brace, just cause the flare was hurting so bad. So if you are feeling no pain at this time, I'd say try to keep it mobile and moving, as that always seems to be the best thing with RA. Good luck!
