any liver supplements help with high enzyme levels

Long story short. I was diagnoised with RA 5/14 and in hind sight was suffering symptoms since 9/13. I'm 42 now and this is really negatively affecting my life, hobbies, work etc.

Got in with a good RA doc and he got me started on Methotrexate at my first appt 5/14. Started on 6 tabs, had to drop to 4 after the first blood test and then back up to 5 until 12/14 when I was taken off of it due to high liver counts.

I very rarely drink alcohol, eat pretty good and dont take any other meds that my DR thinks is causing problems. I drink a lot of water too.

Since I've been off of it my liver levels have been very slowly coming down but my pain, stiffness etc is predictibly going up. I've had a couple of flares that have required Prednisone to knock them back.

Are there any supplements (milk thistle) or products that can help with the liver levels so that I can get back on Methotrexate or other meds to get me going in the right direction? I was feeling good on the Methotrexate but now am just about back to where I was (extremely miserable) when I was diagnoised.

I have my next RA appt in 5/15 and Dr has me on monthly blood work.

Anyone have any suggestions/sage advice?

I've been taking milk thistle for years, swear by it. Make sure you get a decent quality product.
Google Organic Milk Thistle, or look at Hep Helper, I use their organic milk thistle, its cheaper over the internet. Hope this helps.

If you take MTX you can't take milk thistle-I forget why it's forbidden

I don't know about supplements but I always drank a lot of water to flush the liver when I was on MTX
