Just curious if any of you have had occasional blurred vision? I take Plaquenil but my eye exsams have been fine. No change in my eyesight. This has been going on for awhile and I keep forgetting to tell my RA Doctor. I am also on rituxan infusions not to mention prednisone so I was wondering if anyone else has had symptoms like this.... It doesn't happen everyday but it does happen frequently.
oh and I am pretty sure my rituxan has quit working on me. I go back to the doctor on the 23rd of this month so he will address that im sure as all of my numbers are up again.

Are you seeing multiple images piled up?

I see that, but I've been told it's beginning of cataracts from long term steroid use.

I notice when I'm on prednisone some days my vision is blurry and I need reading glasses- some days I don't. Lately I've been getting a mucousy film and my eyes are so dry I can't get my contacts to insert without multiple trys and re-wetting

Weary that is exactly the way my eyes are. And I do notice a mucos type feel to mine as well. I don't have anything in them but it feels as though it does. Guess it's the prednisone. I did go up on it today and have noticed it more today.

Last time I went to eye Dr he said prednisone possibly increases chance for cataracts. He wanted to do a test, but since insurance doesn't cover and I don't have blurred vision, didn't want to pay for it. I would suggest a visit to ophthalmologist for both you gals. Best wishes. Another RA gift from the disease that keeps on giving, huh?

My cataracts are confirmed by my eye doctor. They are not bad enough for surgery, but enough to aggrevate me. I have to have bright light to read and use reading glasses (+1.75).

I don't know what it is that prednisone has to do with this but I can say that I haven't been on it for many years but remember this same thing happened the last time I had to use it...

Call your eye doctor and leave a message and let them know this is going on and if they want to see you then they'll call you with an appointment...
But you should call your eye doctor...

Even thought your going into winter a good quality sunglass can help, snow does have a brightness to it that can hurt your eyes...I'm going to be getting a pair of prescription Costas and these are expensive but we are going into summer and my eyes just need the protection...fish oil supplements are good for eyes as well...and parsley is good for the eyes...

Chartrex I have prescription costas however I do not live where we have any snow. Sad to say I would love some snow. Have a great day
