Methotrexate Pain Relief for Injuries?

Hi,

Four days ago, I climbed into the crawl space and started dragging a wall from a Little Tykes playhouse out for a garage sale. I tripped over a pile of full boxes, and landed on top of a bunch of sharp, painful stuff.

I finally had my ribs checked out, and I broke a rib. My legs have a couple of goose eggs on them. The nurse practitioner said she wasn't going to give me any thing for the pain because the methotrexate was enough!

Does methotrexate help with your other aches and pains? She also said I was the only person she had ever seen that was taking methotrexate one day a week. This was at one of those walk in ERS. I am not going there again.

Mtx stops inflammation from autoimmune diseases not pain killer.
She didn't know what she was talking about. Did your primary give you any thing?

I believe she was mistaken on both points. I hope you're healing well. Broken ribs are no fun.

I take methotrexate once per week. I think that's how it is supposed to be done. Hope you are able to find something to help with your pain. Sure does seem hard to get pain meds for legitimate pain these days. I wonder if all the new laws and precautions are making a dent in the ability of the abusers to acquire narcos. My bet is not.
