methotrexate not working starting dmards worried

methotrexate not working so starting so they are thinking of starting Imuran or Sulfasalazine. What do you think about these meds ?

I take plaquinel and Leflunomide which seem to be helping me.

Hi Debbie perhaps they want to get you on the DEMARDS sooner
all you can do is google both drugs and learn as much about them as you can But Don't let side effects Scare you remember they list Every possible side effect and that is usually over hundreds or thousands of people.
Be sure to get Regular Blood Tests and be sure that the Doctor is actually checking them- when you go to see him ask how was my blood result? ( yes i've had results sit there un looked at)
keep a diary of how you feel any problems eg dry mouth or itching or Fever etc and if it worries you don't wait till your scheduled visit Go back & tell someone.
also write if you notice any improvements, this will all help at your next doctor visit.
and remember even these drugs take time to work so be patient and try not to stress out

I've never been on Sulfasalazine but I thank God for Imuran and the other 3 older medications.
I was in remission for about 5 years while on Imuran. The 5 or 6 Biologics that I was on did
not work for me unfortunately. Good luck on your new medication.
